May I Introduce the Newest Member of Our Pack

I am proud to introduce the sweet, the handsome, the well behaved, funny and pugly pug, Leon!!

Leon is a two year old pug, well he will be two in September, that we adopted from a rescue. We decided it was a good time to bring another little one in our family. Oscar and Hazel are still a bit indifferent to him, though it has been no time at all, but we hope they all build strong, loving relationships and Leon brings a littel young pup energy to our old lady Hazel. Leon, however, is a fan of everyone, especially me. He is my shadow and is proving to be a serious lap dog. 

He has all the wonderful quirks of your average pug - snoring, snorting, churping and side stepping and keeps us in tearful laughter often. He is also a gentleman and potty trained too. Did we win the lottery? I think so. 

This is Leon in the studio. He is not quite ready to join the pack on he dog couch. Though he did have a snuggle nap with Hazel yesterday.

LLeon has a birth defect of a crooked jaw that causes his tongue to hang out the side of his mouth. Not all the time, but most of the time. Other then that, it does not give him any trouble so we think it is cute and joke that he looks tipsy drunk. 

How lucky we are to have expanded our family. Now we have three great dogs to keep me company in the studio. It can't get much better then that!

An Anniversary and A Sale

Today, the 14th,  is my two year anniversary of having my shop on etsy. To celebrate that and my dog, Hazel recently turning 14, I am having a one day sale. Needle felted portraits will be offered for $114 today and only 14 of them will be sold at that price. So it is a good day to get those orders in!!

My Baby is Also My Old Lady

My beautiful sweet girl Hazel turned 14 on the 26th of June. For those of you who know me personally, you know this girl is my heart and soul in every way, maybe even to a fault if that is possible. It is both grand and sad to see her age. I am so pleased and proud that she is the vibrant old lady that she is but my heart aches knowing that we are in the twilight of her life.

 To celebrate my angel's birthday, we took a girls day to go to the beach - her very most favorite thing to do. We drove to Cannon Beach in the early afternoon and walked in the waves and sat in the sand. Hazel is so happy when she is at the beach, she constantly barks with joy. It is really funny. When the sun became too much, we wandered around the shops. Hazel, being the beauty she is, demanded the attention of those around her. A lady even came out of her gallery to say that Hazel reminded her of a dog in her past who was the best dog she had ever known. If she knew Hazel better, she would be the best dog she has ever known, I am sure of it. 

We tried to visit the doggy goody store but they were already closed. So I took Haze to the seafood market for fresh salmon jerky and we brought fresh halibut home in a cooler to have dinner with the boys. All and all, it was a lovely afternoon and a great way to celebrate all the years Hazel has blessed us with her spirit. We are so lucky.
